Secured Help was created by Taj and Qamar Noori in 2017, after volunteering with the Peace Corps and other organizations for over a decade. Today, Secured Help supports families locally and abroad in many crucial ways: providing groceries and hot meals to local shelters; supporting those in need of urgent cash for rental, utilities and medical bills; offering funeral assistance; donating food and clothes in some of the most impoverished areas in Zambia and Niger, where they also supporting the building of schools and water wells and a variety of specific urgent needs.

Management Team

Taj Noori, President and CEO

Raised by a single mother in India, Taj learned early on the importance of helping those in need, and to this day she has been assisting people in her own community as well as abroad. In 2004, Taj spent six weeks in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, teaching English, Art, Math and other practical skills at an orphanage, soon after the region was devastated by a tsunami. Taj also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, and, after completing her service, continued to volunteer with other local organizations working with youth development and after school programs, feeding the homeless, and helping refugees towards self-sufficiency in the US.

Hamid Hameed Butt, Secretary and Board Member

Hamid has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and over 35 years of professional experience in high-tech industry.


Farah Merchant, CFO

Farah has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and over 25 years of professional experience in high-tech industry. She also has over 10 years of volunteering experience.

Saira Siddiqi

Saira has a Masters degree in International Relations and has worked at the US Embassy in Islamabad and at the Daily Business Recorder as a staff reporter. Saira has also served as one of the founding board members of DIL SF (Developments in Literacy), a nonprofit promoting education in Pakistan.


Qamar Noori

Qamar has a MBA degree in accounting and finance, and a Master of Science degree in marine biology and biological oceanography. He has over 40 years of professional experience as a financial analyst and manager for high-tech companies. Additionally, Qamar has over 20 years of volunteering experience including serving Peace Corps in Niger and Zambia.


Arif Maskatia

Arif has an MEE degree and more than 40 years of experience in high tech industry. He was CTO of Acer Inc. before his retirement.


Faisal Merchant

Faisal has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and over 25 years of experience in financial planning and analysis for high-tech companies. Additionally, Faisal Merchant has over 10 years of volunteering experience.

Advisory Board

Nousheen Chaudhry

Nousheen has more than three decades of experience leading community service and charitable programs. She has worked for several local government agencies in Northern California, providing leadership in a broad range of community services, including Senior Programs, Childcare Programs, Community & Cultural Events, Athletics and Continuing Education. Nousheen has also served several nonprofits organizations supporting women's issues/needs and charities addressing hunger and poverty.

Azmat Siddiqi

Azmat is a business leader with extensive expertise in Operations, Strategic Business Planning, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Supplier Development.
